Dr. Deborah Frank Retires
All of us who know you have known pediatrician Deborah Frank from the time she was a Fellow with Berry Brazelton at the Child Development Unit at Boston Children’s Hospital in the 1980s, know her as one of the most committed doctors we ever met. On her retirement, the Sunday Boston Globe (January 5th, 2020) describes her contribution to children and families and highlights the sheer consistency and unfailing day-in-day-out dedication to families over the years, that makes Dr. Frank such an exemplary pediatrician and inspiring colleague. Debbie (as we know her) always saw health issues not just as individual problems but also as a consequence of social justice. She is a model of all that is best in Behavioral and Developmental Pediatrics not only in the personal relational way she has always met children and their parents but as a colleague she exemplifies the importance of fighting to provide better health and social care services for currently underserved populations with unmet needs.
